PURPOSE: One or more opposite directions determination method and apparatus thereof are provided to determine one or more opposite directions as a target direction or target directions through sound waves. CONSTITUTION: Frequency bands are detected from a frequency range of each spectrum deducted from the absolute value or each absolute value spectrum. Amplitude values of frequencies displayed on one frequency band are integrated as a frequency band amplitude value of each frequency band. The absolute value spectrum assigned to relative directions(21a~21c) or the deducted spectrum includes frequency band amplitude values which are over a threshold value(31). An opponent direction assigned to the absolute value spectrum or the deducted spectrum is determined as a target direction.
