PURPOSE: A method for applying tension to thread and an apparatus for the same are provided to control the thread tension and to enable smooth sewing work. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling thread tension of an embroidery machine comprises: a step of searching thread tension and control parameters of a thread tension control device and making database(s106); a step of inputting working conditions such as the kind of thread and the thickness and material of fabric(s108); a step of reading control parameter from the database(s110); and a step of controlling an apparatus for controlling thread tension to obtain optimal thread tension based on the control parameters.(s112). |
