AN APPARATUS FOR INTEGRATING CARBON DIOXIDE CAPTURE AND DESALINATION

PURPOSE: An integrated carbon dioxide collecting and desalinating apparatus is provided to reduce the using amount of energy and working fluid and to save costs required for installation. CONSTITUTION: An integrated carbon dioxide collecting and desalinating apparatus(1a) includes an absorbing unit(10), a drawing solution chamber(30), a forward osmosis separator(40), a buffer chamber(70), a fresh water separator(60), a carbon dioxide separator(150), and a controlling unit. The absorbing unit contacts flue gas with an absorbing solution containing dissolved volatile absorbent to absorb carbon dioxide from the flue gas. The drawing solution chamber stores the absorbing solution to be used as a drawing solution. The forward osmosis separator separates fresh water from feed water based on the drawing solution. The buffer chamber is in fluidic connection with the drawing solution chamber. The fresh water separator separates the fresh water from the drawing solution. The carbon dioxide separator separates carbon dioxide from the drawing solution. The carbon dioxide separator is in fluidic connection with the absorbing unit. The controlling unit controls the concentration and the amount of the drawing solution.
