The device has a flexible conduit (3) comprising an end connected to a liquid source (1) and another end comprising a manual gripping member (4) provided with a tubular cryogenic fluid transfer pole (5). The pole is introduced into a reception vessel (2) during transfer of the liquid from the source toward the vessel. The pole has an end fluidly connected to the flexible conduit and another free end. The former end of the pole is fixed on the latter end of the conduit and/or on the gripping member in a selectively removable manner, where the pole is made of polymer plastic material. An independent claim is also included for a method for transferring cryogenic liquid from an installation.
