PURPOSE: A continuous casting apparatus and a method thereof are provided to easily form a clad layer even using the metal having different melting points. CONSTITUTION: A continuous casting apparatus(10) comprises a mold(100), outer metal(160,170), and a submerged nozzle(20). The mold comprises a space for an exterior shape of a slab to continuously cast the slab. The outer metal is formed into a thin sheet shape. The outer metal is supplied to the inside of the mold, and placed outer on an outer layer of the slab. The submerged nozzle continuously supplies molten steel to the internal space formed with the outer metal.
