The invention relates to device (1) for processing a batch of small light weight objects, the objects having an average dimension. The device comprises a transportation unit (8) comprising an object carrier (2) having a top surface (2a) suitable for carrying small light weight objects and a plurality of openings (7) through the object carrier (2) to the top surface,a filling section (3) configured for scattering small light weight objects on the top surface of the object carrier,an inspection section (4),a removal section (5) configured for selectively removing objects from the top surface, and, a control unit (11). The device is configured to scatter in the filling section the objects on the top surface such that the objects essentially lie side to side on the top surface, and the openings (7) have an in-between distance which is smaller than an average dimension of the objects.
