<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device capable of suppressing a decrease in light emission efficiency of a fluorescent layer even when an output of a light source device for excitation is increased. <P>SOLUTION: An illumination device 101 according to the present invention comprises: a first light source device 10a for emitting a first light beam La; a second light source device 10b for emitting a second light beam Lb; a fluorescent layer 42 excited by the first light beam La and the second light beam Lb; and a light converging optical system 20 for emitting the first light beam La and the second light beam Lb to the fluorescent layer 42 in such a manner that at least a part of the first light beam La and at least a part of the second light beam Lb overlap with each other on the fluorescent layer 42, and that a first high light intensity region having the highest light intensity in a beam spot of the first light beam La formed on the fluorescent layer 42 and a second high light intensity region having the highest light intensity in a beam spot of the second light beam Lb formed on the fluorescent layer 42 are disposed apart from each other on the fluorescent layer 42. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
