<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system capable of obtaining an effect of direct illumination as well as indirect illumination, in which while brightness feeling is enhanced, thinning of an lighting system is promoted. <P>SOLUTION: A part of light L incident into a light guide plate 22 from a plurality of point light sources 24 arranged along an inner circumferential end face 22a of the light guide plate 22 is emitted outside from an outer circumferential end face 22b, that is, an emission face, of the light guide plate. Since the light L is emitted from the outer circumferential end face 22b of the light guide plate 22, the light L does not come in around a range right above the lighting system 20 having a limited effect as an indirect illumination and the light is distributed to a range further outside of the outer circumferential end face 22b of the light guide plate 22. The light guide plate 22 itself carries a light distribution function as an indirect illumination, and a component having a light distribution function which is a thickness increasing factor as the lighting system 20 is not necessitated separately so that thinning of the lighting system 20 can be promoted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
