The armature (2) has a laminated core formed in axially extending grooves (201) and a lower partial winding and upper partial winding made of copper wrapped in the grooves separately. The partial windings are switched parallel at commutator slats of a commutator (3). The upper partial winding is higher by a winding step than the lower partial winding in the grooves. An anchor body is formed with the grooves. The partial windings are formed with a conductor in cross section. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an armature.
