PURPOSE: An edge skull searching method for a double roll type thin plate manufacturing process is provided to accurately grasp a size of an edge skull dropping a quality of a strip edge portion on a real time basis, thereby efficiently controlling an edge dam. CONSTITUTION: An edge skull searching method for a double roll type thin plate manufacturing process comprises a camera(200), an image processing unit(400), a measuring unit(500), and a calculation unit(600). The camera is installed in the rear part of a roof pit formed in the lower part of a strip roll, thereby photographing a strip edge portion. The image processing unit image-processes image information with respect to the strip edge portion transmitted from the camera, thereby clearly indicating sizes and positions of the strip edge portion and an edge skull with images. The measuring unit measures an upper horizontal pixel value and a lower horizontal pixel value and a size of an edge skull image by using image information image-processed by the image processing unit. The calculation unit calculates a reference size of the edge skull by using the upper horizontal pixel value and the lower horizontal pixel value and the size of the edge skull measured by the measuring unit and an absolute size of the edge skull based on the calculated reference size of the edge skull.
