<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict a latch mechanism from the outside in a vehicle width direction with an unauthorized tool inserted from a small hole of an outer panel, namely, unauthorized release in which unlocking operation is restricted. <P>SOLUTION: An onboard back door opening and closing device 13 includes: a back door 20 for opening and closing a door opening 12 of the rear face 11a of a vehicle body 11; the latch mechanism 40 provided on the back door; and a striker 50 provided on the vehicle body to lock the latch mechanism. At least one of the vehicle width direction of the latch mechanism positioned in a door internal space Sp is surrounded with a shielding wall 60. The shielding wall is joined on the lower end face 33a of a side plate 33 of an inner panel 31 of the back door and an outer panel 21 of the back door.
