The present invention provides an organic compound hydrogenation device that can store water-derived hydrogen virtually without generating hydrogen gas. The organic compound hydrogenation device is provided with: an oxidation chamber that holds a water-containing electrolyte; a reduction chamber that holds an organic compound having an unsaturated bond; an electrolyte membrane that separates the electrolyte held in the oxidation chamber and the organic compound held in the reduction chamber and that has ion permeability; an oxidation electrode that generates protons from the water held in the oxidation chamber; and a reduction electrode that hydrogenates the organic compound held in the reduction chamber.
