<p>[Objective] To provide a cylindrical battery comprising current-collecting plates that can inhibit invalid current to be generated upon welding the current-collecting plates onto electrode-plate-side end sections protruding from spiral electrodes, and that can strengthen the welding strength between the electrode-plate-side end sections therewith, and a method of manufacturing the cylindrical battery. [Solution] A cylindrical battery of the present invention is provided with spiral electrodes that have an anode and a cathode wound up with a separator interposed therebetween, and has current-collecting plates welded onto side end sections of the anode or the cathode that protrude from the spiral electrodes. The current-collecting plates comprise roughly circular-shaped main faces to be welded onto the side end sections of the anode or the cathode, and the main faces have fan-shaped notches opening towards the outer circumference thereof from the center thereof.</p> |
