<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in detection accuracy of an engine load caused by variation in dimension of a reluctor within a tolerance range of mass production. <P>SOLUTION: The engine control unit includes a pulse generator PC detecting the reluctor 4 to output a crank pulse. An angular velocity calculation part 411 calculates a first crank angular velocity ω10 based on an interval between two crank pulses output in a predetermined segment near a compression top dead center TDC, and calculates a second crank angular velocity ω20, based on an interval between two crank pulses generated by detecting the same reluctor 4 as that used to calculate the first crank angular velocity ω10 near a top dead center OLP of an overlap top. An engine load estimation part 412 calculates a difference Δω<SB POS="POST">360</SB>of the crank angular velocity ω10 with respect to the second crank angular velocity ω 20 as the engine load. The engine load is an indicated mean effective pressure IMEP<SB POS="POST">NET</SB>of a whole of one cycle including negative work by the engine 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
