<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire that has an improved bead area having lower weight and lower rolling resistance and has improved riding comfort but still having a good stiffness in the lower sidewall region for handling purposes. <P>SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire having a carcass and a belt reinforcing structure is disclosed. The carcass includes at least one inner ply which is wound around an annular bead member and extends radially outward towards the crown forming a turnup end. The pneumatic tire further includes a rubber apex located radially outward of the bead and having a radially outer end. The turnup end is located radially outward of the rubber apex and located axially outward of a reinforcement member having a first end and a second end, the first end being positioned adjacent the apex, the second end being radially outward of the apex outer end. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
