<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide custodian-based routing. <P>SOLUTION: In operation, a system receives a request associated with a part of a content by a calculation device from a user, and determines whether the content is locally usable. In response to a determination that the content is not locally usable, the system identifies a remote custodian device which stores the content. The custodian device is not identified with its physical address. Then the system identifies a communication end point related to the identified custodian device, and maps a physical address corresponding to the identified communication end point.
