<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve dramatically a processing speed in an image encoding apparatus and an image encoding method as represented by JPEG-XR, capable of changing a quantization value or a factor predicting method every block in comparison with those of conventional types. <P>SOLUTION: An image encoding apparatus is constructed so that parallel scanning conversion processing can be performed, and a pre-data block is received by one scanning conversion processing while receiving the next data block by the other scanning conversion processing. Accumulation non-zero information is sequentially updated on the basis of the pre-data block, and new scan order for the next data block is partially determined on the basis of a part of the updated accumulation non-zero information. The data corresponding to a part of pixel positions of which the scan order is determined is obtained from the next data block, the accumulation non-zero information in the part of pixel positions is updated, and the new scan order for the next data block is partially determined on the basis of the part of the updated accumulation non-zero information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
