<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a color filter substrate which can suppress an increase in surface roughness of a colored layer in a simple method. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a color filter substrate 12 includes a step of arranging coloring material (red material 31a, green material 32a, blue material 33a) containing pigment on a transparent substrate 21.
