<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber laser and a continuous light oscillation method for the fiber laser, capable of suppressing generation of a giant pulse light. <P>SOLUTION: A fiber laser includes: a resonator formed by a first mirror 2 and a second mirror 3; a rare-earth doped optical fiber 1 doped with a rare-earth element, provided on an optical path of the resonator; and an excitation light source 5 that excites the rare-earth element. The optical path has a feedback suppression section 7 that suppresses a feedback of spontaneous emission light of the rare-earth element from the first mirror 2 to the rare-earth doped optical fiber 1. The feedback suppression section 7 makes the resonator perform a pulse oscillation by temporarily increasing a feedback amount from the first mirror 2 during the period when there is a risk that parasitic oscillation occurs at ramp-up of the excitation light source 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
