<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walker having the function of helping a user stand up. <P>SOLUTION: The standing assist walker 1 includes: a handle 4 installed at a front part; a column 3 which supports the handle 4; a frame 2 which supports the column 3 and is roughly U-shaped in such a shape that a rear part is open; a first caster 5 provided with a wheel rotatable in front and back directions and right and left directions and installed at the front part of the frame 2; a second caster 6 provided with a wheel rotatable in the front and back directions and the right and left directions and installed at both right and left rear parts of the frame 2; a seat surface 8 whose longitudinal direction is extended in the roughly front and back directions of the walker and disposed near the side part of the frame 2 in the planar view; a first restraining mechanism which restrains the rotation in the front and back directions of the wheel of the second caster 6 when a load is applied to the seat surface 8; a second restraining mechanism which restrains the rotation in the right and left directions of the wheel of the second caster 6 by an operation by a user; and a driving mechanism which drives the seat surface 8 in upper and lower directions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
