<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate a membrane water content by a simple process and to satisfactorily perform operation control of a fuel cell on the basis of the membrane water content. <P>SOLUTION: A method for measuring a membrane water content of a fuel cell stack 10 comprises the steps of: measuring a clamping load applied to a plurality of fuel cells 22 in a stacking direction; estimating a load applied to a seal member in the stacking direction; estimating a working pressure load in the stacking direction, which is based on a working pressure; and subtracting the load and the working pressure load from the clamping load to obtain a membrane load, and calculating a water content of an electrolyte membrane from the membrane load. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
