<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device capable of space-saving at the time of lighting by using a light guide body extended in a longitudinal direction without preparing a light source on both ends in the longitudinal direction of the light guide body and lessening unevenness of illumination light. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting device includes a single light source 2, the light guide body 3 for guiding light emitted from the light source 2, and a light-diffusing member 5 for diffusing the light. The light guide body 3 includes a light incident section 11 wherein the light emitted from the light source 2 is incident, a branching section 13 for branching an incident light flux into at least two ways, and an irradiation section 15 extending from the branching section 13 to a longitudinal direction X and irradiating light. The light-diffusing section 5 is arranged at a location separated from the light guide body 3 and is adjacent to a branched side (inner side) of the branching section 13.
