A foundry blow moulding machine for blowing sand against a pattern in an upwardly open box 64 comprises closure means 57 arranged to fit into the upper part of the box, elevating means for lifting the box and pattern to squeeze the sand against the closure means, and seal means 72 between the closure means and the box which allows venting of air but restrains the passage of sand, and permits relative vertical movement between the closure means and the upper part of the box without breaking the seal. The seal is of brush bristle material and the subject matter of the Specification is contained within that accompanying Specification 920,085 which is referred to. The Specification is substantially the same as that accompanying Specification 920,088 which is also referred to.</p> |
