Disclosed are: a graft copolymer production method for polymerizing a vinyl monomer (B) containing a polyfunctional vinyl monomer (b1), while in the presence of a polyorganosiloxane rubber (A) in which more than 20 mass% thereof is toluene insoluble, wherein the mass ratio of the polyfunctional vinyl monomer (b1) is 11-19 mass% of the total 100 mass% of the polyorganosiloxane rubber (A) and the vinyl monomer (B); a graft copolymer obtained by the method; a resin composition produced by formulating the graft copolymer into a resin, and having excellent shock resistance and heat resistance, and sufficient flame retardancy; and a molded article obtained by molding the resin composition.
