PURPOSE: A polarizing plate, a method for manufacturing the same, and a display device are provided to reduce a mask process as compared with an ultraviolet light alignment process. CONSTITUTION: A polarizing plate comprises a transparent substrate(51). A plurality of grooves is separately installed on one main surface of the transparent substrate. A double refraction layer(53) is formed on the main surface of the transparent substrate in which the plurality of grooves is installed. The plurality of grooves is filled with the double refraction layer. The double refraction layer changes linearly polarized light into first polarized light. The double refraction layer changes polarized light transmitting the polarizing plate into second polarized light. The polarized direction of the first polarized light and the second polarized light is different.
