<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus and an operation lock release method for the same for reducing the troublesomeness of a user when releasing an operation lock of an electronic apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic apparatus of the embodiment includes a lock control unit for performing lock control so as not to allow prescribed operations to be performed to an own apparatus. In addition, when the own apparatus is locked for operation, the electronic apparatus includes a lock release region registration unit for registering regions for releasing the operation lock. Also, the electronic apparatus includes a position detection unit for detecting the position of the own apparatus.
