<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a direction of an image in displaying the image based on a plurality of images taken at positions whose relative positions from a subject are different from each other. <P>SOLUTION: An image acquiring part 12 acquires image data of a plurality of images sequentially. A first image holding part 14 holds the acquired first image data, and a second image holding part 16 holds the acquired latest second image data. A first position deviation detector 18 detects position deviation of a background region between the first image and the second image. An image converter 20 generates a converted image to which the position deviation of the background region is corrected. A second position deviation detector 22 and a third position deviation detector 24 detect position deviation of a foreground region along first/second directions between the converted image and the second image. A photographing direction determining part 26 determines whether the photographing direction of the image is lateral or vertical based on the directions of the position deviation of the foreground region. An image storage processor 28 stores the first image data and the second image data for stereoscopic image generation, and adds attribute information representing a photographing direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
