<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing apparatus capable of obtaining a higher power-saving effect. <P>SOLUTION: The data processing apparatus has: processing means to process and output input data; gate means connected with the input or output of the processing means and cuts off input and output of data; controlling means to control a clock supply to the processing means; and instruction means to instruct a clock control to the controlling means.
