<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that electricity and water are wasted especially when a water heater is used for a bathroom because the water heater is often started without changing the previous settings and operated at a temperature not suitable for the occasion. <P>SOLUTION: A water heater sets hot water temperatures according to a face image that has been stored in advance, and then memorizes and optimizes differences in setting, thus saving electricity and water. The water heater uses a camera and a face image extraction unit to extract face image information for each bathroom user, and memorizes the face image information in association with setting information.
