PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a restored image of a high quality by accurately correcting color shift due to chromatic aberration of magnification.

SOLUTION: An image processing method comprises: a step S11 of acquiring an input image generated by imaging using an optical system 101; image restoration steps S12 and S13 of generating the restored image by performing image restoration processing on the input image using an image restoration filter created on the basis of the optical transfer function of an optical system; and a color shift detection step S14 of detecting color shift corresponding to chromatic aberration of magnification of the optical system included in the restored image. In a restored image color shift reduction step S15, color shift reduction processing which reduces color shift detected by the color shift detection step is performed, on the restored image.
