LIGHT-EMITTING ELEMENT, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME, AND LIGHTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration in light emission characteristics of a light-emitting element while preventing a short circuit between a first electrode and a second electrode.

SOLUTION: The light-emitting element includes a conductive layer having a function as the first electrode, an electroluminescent layer, and a conductive layer having a function as the second electrode and further includes an insulating material which fills a defective portion present in the electroluminescent layer so as to close the defective portion. The conductive layer having the function as the second electrode is superposed on the conductive layer having the function as the first electrode via the electroluminescent layer and the insulating material, and is in contact with an upper surface of the electroluminescent layer.
