METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ROUTING DATA MESSAGE

Disclosed are a method and system for routing a data message. The method includes: if a source terminal access gateway receives a data message sent to a terminal by a correspondent node and then finds that the terminal is not attached to the source terminal access gateway and that the location information about the terminal is not saved locally, the source terminal access gateway acquires the location information about the terminal from a home server and passes the location information about the terminal to the correspondent node access gateway which updates the location information about the terminal; or, the source terminal access gateway notifies the correspondent node access gateway to query the location information, and the correspondent node access gateway initiates a location information query toward the home server and uses the discovered location information about the terminal to update the location information about the terminal locally. The present invention enables the terminal access gateway to route the terminal data messages accurately, thereby avoiding message loss.
