<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of improving image quality of a display screen while reducing the number of light sources. <P>SOLUTION: A light source implemented substrate 42 provided to a backlight unit 4 has an elongate shape having a vertical scan direction of an image as a longitudinal direction, and LED modules to be light sources are disposed at a plurality of positions in the longitudinal direction. On each of the light sources, a lens 45 for spreading light of the light source to an elongate region in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction on a liquid crystal panel 2 is disposed. A control device for controlling brightness of the plurality of light sources controls light emission operation of the light sources in synchronization with selection of a scan line in writing operation of an image signal to the liquid crystal panel 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
