摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of improving image quality of a display screen while reducing the number of light sources. <P>SOLUTION: A light source implemented substrate 42 provided to a backlight unit 4 has an elongate shape having a vertical scan direction of an image as a longitudinal direction, and LED modules to be light sources are disposed at a plurality of positions in the longitudinal direction. On each of the light sources, a lens 45 for spreading light of the light source to an elongate region in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction on a liquid crystal panel 2 is disposed.
