<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic capacitance type touch panel in which an input operation position is accurately detected with a limited number of detection electrodes. <P>SOLUTION: In a first detection electrode and a second detection electrode which are adjacent to each other in a detection direction, a branch pattern at a side of the second detection electrode in a plurality of branch patterns of the first detection electrode and a branch pattern at a side of the first detection electrode in a plurality of branch patterns of the second detection electrode are alternately wired along the detection direction and regarding a width in the detection direction, the plurality of branch patterns of each detection electrode are formed thin for branch patterns at both sides along the detection direction and formed wide gradually toward a branch pattern of the center. A floating capacitance of the detection electrode which an input manipulator approaches is increased in proportion to a counter area opposed to the input manipulator. Therefore, when the center of the detection electrode is defined as an input operation position, the floating capacitance of that detection electrode becomes maximum and by comparing the floating capacitance of the first detection electrode with that of the second detection electrode, the input operation position between the first detection electrode and the second detection electrode can be complemented and detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
