The invention relates to a method for determining a force (F) which acts via a drive wheel (5), which is fastened on a motor shaft (4) of an electric motor (3) or output shaft of a geared motor, on a component (2), which is coupled to the drive wheel (5) directly in form-fitting and/or force-fitting manner, wherein the electric motor (3) is coupled electrically to a power amplifier (7), which is coupled to a power-supply unit (9) via a connecting circuit (8), wherein the force (F) is determined by means of a voltage (U) and of a current (I) which are determined in the connecting circuit (8). The invention also relates to an apparatus for implementing the method and to a use.
