The hygroscopic filler material for an organic light-emitting element of the present invention comprises: a hygroscopic layer formed on an encapsulation substrate material; and a filler material layer formed on the hygroscopic layer, and the hygroscopic layer is of calcium, while the filler material layer is one in which the storage modulus of elasticity is approximately 0.1 to 100 MPa as measured by the DMA (Dynamic Mechanical Analysis) method. The hygroscopic filler material for an organic light-emitting element of the present invention makes use of a filler material layer that has specific physical properties and a specific hygroscopic layer, and, during the absorption of a water fraction, it is little affected by warpage and dark spots do not occur and thus defects in the element can be greatly reduced and miniaturization can be achieved.
