PURPOSE: A wave-power generation apparatus is provided to generate huge wave power by smoothly moving a floating unit up and down as the wave power is vertically applied to the floating unit. CONSTITUTION: A wave-power generation apparatus comprises a guide bar, a fixing unit(105), a floating unit(101), and a power generation unit(150). One end of the guide bar is inserted under the water. The fixing unit fixes the guide bar under the water. The floating unit vertically moves along with the guide bar. The power generation unit comprises a rack gear(151) and a pinion gear(153). The rack gear is installed in the floating unit. The pinion gear is rotatably installed in the guide bar in order to generate torque for operating a power generator or a compressor when the floating unit vertically moves. The pinion gear is engaged with the rack gear.
