PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus which newly designates another line as a line used for a specified purpose when a line designated as the line used for the specified purpose becomes an unusable state.

SOLUTION: When at least one of a plurality of lines becomes the unusable state and the line in the unusable state is designated as the line used for the specified purpose, the communication apparatus newly designates the other line except for the line becoming the unusable state among the plurality of lines as the line used for the specified purpose.
