Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for selecting a service gateway entity, which belong to the communication field. The method includes: receiving an access request message of user equipment (UE) sent by a base station, the access request message including the location information of the base station; acquiring the signalling interface address list of service gateway (SGW) entities serving the UE, according to the location information of the base station; selecting the SGWs having no malfunction on the paths to neighbouring network elements to serve the UE, according to information about path malfunctions between the SGWs and neighbouring network elements and the acquired signalling interface address list of the SGWs serving the UE. The apparatus includes: a reception module, an acquisition module and a selection module. |
