The device has a two-stage pneumatic-electronic sensor system that is aerated and ventilated to a specific value in a fully automated and computer-controlled manner such that decision criteria are metrologically determined independent of each other based on a pressure-time relationship for exact and user-independent determination of compression contact pressure. A measurement acquisition and evaluation unit (3) performs a preprocessing and digitization process on a sensor signal without any signal filtering process. An independent claim is also included for a pneumatic-electronic measuring method for in vivo determination of external contact pressure of medical compression dressings applied on a patient.
