<p>PURPOSE: A burnishing tool for forming dimples is provided to adjust the shape of dimples simply by projecting only pressing balls without the projection of a rotator in dial direction. CONSTITUTION: A burnishing tool(1) for forming dimples comprises a mandrel(30) and a cylinder-shaped frame(40). The rear portion of mandrel is mounted in a processing machine. The frame is fitted to the outside of the front end of the mandrel to be rotated. The frame comprises a roller(41) and pressing balls(42). The frame is inserted in a workpiece and dimples are formed in the workpiece through the rotation of the mandrel. The dimple regulating unit of the mandrel is composed of a roller rotating unit(33b) and a pressing ball projecting and rotating unit(33a). The roller rotating unit rotates the roller without the projection of the roller.</p> |
