<p>--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The invention relates to a mechanism (1) for separating surface layers from an end (4) of a conveyor belt (5), whereby the mechanism and the conveyor belt are movable relative to each other and separating the particular surface layer takes place by means of a blade of the mechanism. The task of the invention is it improve a mechanism of the type mentioned so that, with this, the surface layers of the conveyor belt that are turned away from each other can be separated quickly and precisely. The task is solved by the fact that the mechanism exhibits two blades (27, 28), whereby one blade (27) serves the purpose of separating the surface layer on one side of the conveyor belt and the other blade (28) serves the purpose of separating the surface layer on the other side of the conveyor belt.
