<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator group managing device which manages an elevator group by optimizing a control method according to traffic demand. <P>SOLUTION: The elevator group managing device has an elevator car, a detecting section, an extracting section, a traffic demand determining section, a control method storing section, a control method evaluating section, a control method acquiring section and a car assigning control computing section. The detecting section detects a getting-on load and a getting-off load for each direction and for each floor to be output as load information. The extracting section extracts a feature amount relating to getting-on and getting-off from the load information. The traffic demand determining section determines the traffic demand based on the feature amount. The control method storing section stores one or more control method candidates in association with each of reference traffic demands. The control method evaluating section determines an optimal control method from the control method candidates for each of the traffic demand. The control method acquiring section acquires a control method determined for the reference traffic demand which matches the traffic demand.
