<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating hexavalent chromium-containing water capable of efficiently performing reduction treatment of hexavalent chromium without performing pH adjustment by the addition of a pH adjuster. <P>SOLUTION: A water to be treated containing hexavalent chromium is passed through a first cartridge 14 filled with H-type cation exchange resin. A reducing agent is added to the water to be treated before or after the water to be treated is in contact with the H-type cation exchange resin. By the ion exchange or the like of the H-type cation exchange resin, because an acidic atmosphere in which the hexavalent chromium is easily reduced to trivalent chromium is established in the first cartridge 14, the water to be treated has an acidic pH, the hexavalent chromium is easily reduced to trivalent chromium by the reduction action of the reducing agent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
