Provided is an information system whereby it is possible to dynamically and simply carry out the forming of associations between physical nodes and virtual nodes. An information system comprises: a plurality of physical nodes which process packets that are received from external nodes, according to processing rules in which collation rules for specifying flows are associated with process descriptions that are applied to packets which conform to the collation rules; and a control device which operates the plurality of physical nodes as virtual nodes on a virtual network which are usable from the external nodes. The control device further comprises: a first storage unit which defines the correspondences between the physical nodes and the virtual network; and a second storage unit which defines the correspondences between the external nodes and the virtual nodes on the virtual network. The control device determines the virtual network and the virtual nodes to which the external nodes connect, on the basis of information of the physical nodes to which the external nodes connect and information of the external nodes.
