PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a controlling method thereof are provided to conveniently set up a threshold motion distance of a pointer. CONSTITUTION: A controlling unit(180) calculates a motion distance of a pointer about touch input of a first pattern through a first menu. The controlling unit determines first motion distance. The controlling unit calculates the motion distance of a pointer for touch input of a second pattern. The controlling unit determines second motion distance. The controlling unit determines a threshold motion distance of the pointer.
