PURPOSE: A backup roll structure of a straightening machine is provided to prevent scratches from generating on a work roll by preventing stress concentration due to the contact of the work roll through a curved portion between a barrel portion and a chamfer portion. CONSTITUTION: A backup roll structure(50) of a straightening machine supports a work roll for correcting the flatness of materials. A curved portion(56) of a backup roll is formed between a flat barrel portion(52) and a chamfer portion(54). The curved portion prevents stress concentration. At least a portion of the curved portion forms a tangent line with the barrel portion and the chamfer portion.
