<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of being manufactured at a low manufacturing cost, and offering a high packing density of graphite and stable quality. <P>SOLUTION: The negative electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a negative electrode collector, and a negative electrode active material layer on the negative electrode collector. The negative electrode active material layer contains flaky graphite, granular graphite, and a binder.
