PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magenta dye that has hue with high sharpness suitable for inkjet recording and is excellent in various fastness of a recorded matter, especially excellent in light resistance and ozone gas resistance.

SOLUTION: An ink composition contains at least one compound represented by formula (1) or a salt thereof as a dye. In formula, a group A represents a group obtained when a linking group is bonded to chemical formula of an anthrapyridone compound; R11represents a carboxy group or a group represented by the group A; and R31and R32each independently represents a hydrogen atom etc.
