<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding member having a lubricating film formed on the sliding surface thereof, and capable of exhibiting friction-reducing performance. <P>SOLUTION: The sliding surface is coated with a titanium nitride-based material (for example, titanium carbon nitride, titanium nitride, or titanium aluminum nitride), a molybdenum dithiocarbamate with molybdenum in the amount of 600-1,000 ppm is added to diesel engine oil, the arithmetic mean roughness of the sliding member is set to 2-10 nm, and upon converting the Sommerfeld number viscosity to Pa s, the speed to s<SP POS="POST">-1</SP>, and the load to mean Hertzian stress (Pa), then the sliding member is used under the lubrication conditions within the range of 2.12365×10<SP POS="POST">-19</SP>to 5.94509×10<SP POS="POST">-19</SP>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
